On 14 May, HIAS+JCORE hosted ‘Protection or Punishment?’, a webinar exploring the impact of the Government’s new Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Bill.
We were delighted to be joined by expert speakers Lucy Gregg (Safe Passage), Allan Njanji (Campaigns Manager for the East Midlands, Asylum Matters), and Colin Yeo, (Garden Court Chambers and Free Movement).
Our panellists discussed the Bill’s implications, the status of crucial amendments placed on it, and the next steps in the campaign.
The session was run shortly after the Bill passed through report stage and third reading in the House of Commons. It will now move to the House of Lords for first reading – watch this space for ways you can get involved!
