HIAS+JCORE joins the Board of Deputies

HIAS+JCORE is delighted to have been approved as members of the Board of Deputies. The vote, held at the Board’s plenary in Manchester on Sunday 24 November, saw an overwhelming majority of Deputies back our membership, with 90% in approval.

We are delighted to have such a resounding stamp of approval from Deputies across the country. As an organisation, we look forward to further raising awareness and increasing engagement across the Jewish community in our work empowering and supporting displaced people.

Rabbi David Mason, HIAS+JCORE’s Executive Director, said: “We are delighted that HIAS+JCORE has joined the Board of Deputies with overwhelming support.

We are a Jewish organisation looking to work with others towards a fairer and more cohesive world for refugees and asylum seekers, and one of the key ways we want to deliver that is through engaging the Jewish community with awareness and education. Joining the Board makes that more possible and further enables us to play our part in the wider Jewish community.”
