Statement in response to antisemitic Twitter posts from Wiley this weekend

“The Jewish Council for Racial Equality (JCORE) is dismayed that Twitter has allowed Wiley to use its platform to issue a tirade of antisemitic abuse over the course of the weekend. The attempt by Wiley to use his following to whip up hatred against another community has no place in our society. We as an organisation are dedicated to creating and maintaining bridges between the Jewish community and fellow minority communities. Wiley’s attitude will not undermine that. We believe that collective campaigning and support, alongside engagement in education projects can continue to defeat prejudice and ignorance. Social media companies must also do far more and take action to show that racism and hate against any community has no place on their platforms.”
