“I always think that the real offenders at the half-way mark of the last century were the bystanders – all those people who let things happen because it didn’t affect them directly.”

What We Believe

JCORE works with the Jewish and wider communities to promote a positive multi-ethnic UK free from all forms of racism.

We believe that concern for social justice should become an integral part of our identity, our values and our interaction with the rest of society.

This is vital not only for what it demonstrates to the wider community but also perhaps more importantly, for our sense of what it means to be Jewish in Britain today.

JCORE was established in 1976 to combat discrimination and promote racial justice in Britain.

For many minority ethnic communities in the UK discrimination, harassment and violent attacks remain a common occurrence.

As Jews, we know what happens when others stand by and do nothing. That's why our community needs to speak out - to help to bring about change and challenge racism at its roots

We work closely with other minority ethnic communities and refugee organisations, with anti-racist organisations, interfaith groups, schools, colleges, community and youth groups, and agencies such as the Refugee Council, the Equalities and Human Rights Commission and The Runnymede Trust.

JCORE would like to thank the Kessler Foundation, the United Charities Fund and the Colman Trust for providing funding for this web site.
